Rooftop Cinema Nights at the Movies
El Segundo’s innovative “social cinema” movement is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and offers a movie viewing experience like no other. Their handpicked selection of films has up to three screenings an evening, to entertain all ages. City skylines, sunsets, starlit nights, even refreshments add to a memorable evening. Sunsational Sandcastles Contest
The Roundhouse Aquarium in Manhattan Beach is hosting a worldwide sandcastle building contest for which applications may be submitted through July 6. Proceeds from participation will support marine science-based educational programs. High Tide, Sea-sational Splash, We Otter Stick Together, and Creative Claws are the four categories that invite inspiration. More information found here.
Summer Swing Nights: Drive-In Edition
On Saturday June 12, 8-10pm, El Camino College is the venue a fun, retro dance experience to celebrate and enjoy music of the 30s, 40s, and beyond. In collaboration with El Segundo’s Automobile Driving Museum, a lineup of vintage cars add to the experience. Live vocal performance by the Swing Tones will be accompanied by a big band. Run up to Father’s Day at Western Museum of Flight
Sunday, June 13, from 10am to 3pm, everyone is invited to Torrance’s resident aviation museum to meet and selfie with famous test pilot Roy Martin, air show pilot John Collver, and favorite war dog SNJ/T-6 . For more information, visit the website.
Flag Day Celebration
The Redondo Elks Lodge hosts a tribute to the US Flag at this family-friendly event; all are welcome on Tuesday, June 15.
